Last year, Retired Chief Justice Ch Saqib Nisar took a suo motu against extreme taxes on mobile cards. He abolished unnecessary taxes for both prepaid and postpaid customer. It gave a massive relief to Pakistani People. For few months it continued and concerned authorities were ordered to prepare a fair tax plan on mobile cards. Later, on his retirement, Supreme Court of Pakistan restores all taxes on mobile cards in April, 2018. This decision was taken in favor of the state because it was unable to collect huge revenue from telecom sector.
