Samsung is expanding its entry-level segment. Just under a month after the industry leader launched its highly regarded S20 flagship series, the South Koreans show that they are not just looking at the wealthy public. Because on Samsung’s website in the United Arab Emirates, the new Galaxy M11 has appeared, which is in the lower price range. Numerous leaks have already preceded the publication, so the technical details are not a big surprise.

The Galaxy M11 is equipped with a 6.4-inch display that has a resolution of 720 x 1,560 and installs the 8-megapixel selfie cam behind a punch hole. So the screen looks almost borderless. Inside is a 1.8 GHz Octacore SoC that uses 3 GB of RAM. On top comes a slot for a microSD card to expand the internal memory of 32 GB by another 512 GB. A highlight is the huge 5000 mAh battery, which guarantees up to two days of runtime. The most interesting feature is certainly the triple camera on the back. The setup is mid-range quality, as it has a 13-megapixel sensor, a 5-megapixel wide-angle sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
Samsung rolled out the update of its in-house user interface One UI. With the update to One UI 2.1, many new functions that were previously reserved for the Galaxy S20 series are also available for older devices. You can read everything about it here.
The update to One UI 2.1 is now available in Germany. It will be rolled out for all models in the Galaxy S10 series, including the Galaxy S10 +, S10e and S10 Lite, as well as the models in the Note 10 series. The update is already available for download on most devices. The complete rollout takes place in waves as usual, which means that not all devices receive the update to One UI 2.1 at the same time. According to rumors, One UI 2.1 will also be rolled out for the devices of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9 series. There is still no official statement from Samsung.

Many of the numerous new functions affect the camera of the devices. The new single take mode automatically takes up to 14 photos and videos when the shutter button is pressed once. The best pictures are then recommended by the camera. Also, the night mode has been revised and a time lapse mode added for pictures at night, but these are not available on the note 10 Lite.
The selfie camera also has additional features. New is the recording of 4K videos with 60 frames per second and the selfie sound , which makes the portraits appear warmer or cooler. Other new camera functions under One UI 2.1 are the creation of your own filters, the revision of thePro mode as well as the activation of the pro video mode . This means that there are more design options available when recording videos, e.g. switching between front and rear cameras.
