Design and display: Notch

The 6.21-inch LC display of the Huawei P Smart 2020 has a resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels and a density of 415 ppi in Full HD Plus. Due to the narrow edges and the water drop notch in the top center of the screen, the display takes up about 89 percent of the front. With a weight of only 163 grams, it is a real lightweight and fits comfortably in the hand. The fingerprint sensor is not built into the screen like on the Oppo Reno 2Z, but is located on the back of the device.

The Oppo Reno 2Z is ​​a little larger with its 6.5-inch AMOLED display and has a resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels with a density of 395 ppi. Due to the very narrow screen edges and the lack of a notch, this creates an almost borderless look. Inside the Huawei P Smart 2020, the somewhat overhauled in-house Kirin 710F clocks at up to 2.2 GHz. Nevertheless, with the processor of the upper middle class, along with the 4 GB of RAM, simple apps and videos run smoothly in parallel. It is therefore sufficient for everyday use. The Oppo Reno 2Z has the Helio P90 chipset from Mediatek under the hood, which also clocks at up to 2.2 GHz. Together with the 8 GB of RAM, the use of multiple apps is no problem for the upper mid-range SoC. The in-house operating system ColosOS 6.1, based on Android 9, runs on the Oppo Reno 2Z. This somewhat outdated Android version is also used for the Huawei P Smart 2020, but you still have full access to all Google services with your smartphone,

The Huawei P Smart 2020 is equipped on the back with a dual camera, which consists of a 13-megapixel main sensor with f / 1.8 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. However, both can be expanded using an external memory card. Here, the Huawei P Smart 2020 with its 512 GB of extra storage has the edge, the Oppo Reno 2Z has 256 GB of additional capacity. In any case, there should be enough space on both smartphones for all pictures, music files and favorite apps.

If you compare the Huawei P Smart 2020 and the Oppo Reno 2Z directly with each other, the smartphone from the Chinese cell phone manufacturer, which is not yet well established in Europe, clearly has the edge. The Huawei P Smart 2020 is a bit more manageable and the display quality of the display is a bit better, but the screen of the Oppo Reno 2Z is ​​used more effectively by the pop-up camera. With the rest of the hardware, the points clearly go to the Oppo smartphone: Here, a more powerful chip with more RAM is working. The camera equipment convinces on the one hand with the double number of available lenses with higher resolution, on the other hand with the better AI features. The battery also lasts up to one day longer on average than the Huawei device.
