Oppo A745G lowest price in Pakistan: A74 Camera & Performance Review
Oppo A74 5G is another smartphone created with a focus on a wide audience. It boasts 5G support thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 processor.
But, this is not the end of its benefits. We are all still experiencing problems with the emergence of 5G networks in our regions. But, if you care more about a 5G smartphone than incredible gaming performance, advanced cameras or a vibrant OLED screen, the A74 5G is a great choice.
Design and appearance
The design of the Oppo A74 5G phone is nice. There are black and silver body colors, but the latter looks especially good – the color of the matte surface shimmers from light to dark shades.
Although there are many prints on the body, they are only noticeable from a certain angle. The smartphone is comfortable to hold in hands, and it lies flat on flat surfaces. The module with cameras is small, practically does not protrude above the body.
On the left side of the A74 5G, you will find the SIM card slot and volume keys. On the right is the power button with a built-in fingerprint scanner. There is nothing at the top, while the bottom houses the 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C port, and speaker grill.
In everyday use, this is a good smartphone, although not without its drawbacks. For example, the opening for the front camera is too large, so it is distracting when watching videos or movies. The volume keys are on the opposite side of the power button. I am glad that the button itself is located at the ideal height for my finger.
The display of the Oppo A74 5G is of excellent quality, with rich warm colors. If you like cooler shades, you can change the temperature in the settings.
Alas, the brightness of the panel is not enough – during the day on the street it is not always possible to make out the contents of the screen. A 6.5-inch IPS panel with decent viewing angles is used as a matrix. The refresh rate of 90 Hz is also encouraging for smooth navigation.
Oppo A74 5G Cameras
The A74 5G cameras have proven to be inferior to many competitors. The resulting photos are not terrible, but the quality of the shooting in Oppo should work as well as the design or the display.
The main 48MP lens of the Oppo A74 5G does a poor job of shadowing in the background, which is why photos taken during the day are often too dark. Without the AI mode, colors look washed out, with it – unnaturally saturated. There is also an Extra HD mode, which simply sharpens without improving the quality of the shooting.
At least the 16MP front camera takes decent photos. An appearance enhancement mode is available, which does a good job if you do not set the intensity to maximum. If you overdo it, you will hardly recognize yourself in the pictures.
As for video shooting, color and detail are normal, however, the A74 5G does not cope with recording moving objects, and it is better not to shoot panoramic videos.
System and software
The Oppo A74 5G runs Android 11 with ColorOS 11. It’s not the most attractive user interface, but a lot depends on the usage.
Some people might think that it doesn’t use the app drawer, a scrolling screen that displays icons for all installed apps. The app bar is an option on the A74 5G and needs to be enabled separately.
However, we are talking about a minor issue. Overall, ColorOS looks and feels good in many ways. It lacks the clean, professional-looking options of the Pixel 4a or Android One phones though.
The heart of the Oppo A74 5G is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 processor with 5G networking. The RAM is 6 GB, and the internal memory is 128 GB, which is enough for most users.
The smartphone copes with everyday tasks without tangible problems. Switching between applications is fast, although slight delays are sometimes encountered.
The graphics capabilities of the device are not the most outstanding, however, at low settings you will be able to play Genshin Impact. The back cover of the smartphone remains cool, only during games the area around the module with cameras will slightly heat up. This will definitely not cause uncomfortable sensations.
In benchmarks, Oppo’s A74 5G scores fairly average. Geekbench 5 – 521 single-core and 1710 multi-core modes. 3DMark Sling Shot Extreme OpenGL ES 3.1 – 2409 points. However, in that price segment, the indicators are normal.
Should you buy?
The device looks attractive, the battery lasts for a long time, and the components cope with most everyday tasks. It’s hard for me to demand more from a phone for 42 thousand rupees. Alas, the quality of shooting cameras lets you down – if this aspect is important to you, look for something else.
